Voting Day!

Today is voting day, which means a cute outfit is needed.  I decided on some bright colors to make this dreary weather go away.

I am really happy with this sweater.  It's warm without being too hot or itchy.  Also, the buttons don't pull (thank god!).  It's the Charter sweater in blackberry from Modcloth.  Actually, now that I'm looking, almost my whole outfit is from Modcloth!

I got this dress during a ridiculous sale.  I think it was originally 100+ and I got it for under $30.  The catch - they only had a 3x left.  So it's a bit big for me.  If anyone has a 2x or 1x and wants to trade, please let me know!  But I just couldn't resist the price for the gorgeous fruit salad I get wear whenever I want.

The whole really came together beautifully.  Let's hope the voting results do the same!!!

Fall is here!!!

I can't explain in words how much I love fall.  It's always been my favorite season.  But this year it's even better because I have a home with the gq, two kittens, and a brand new start.

In honor of that, I thought I'd try something that I never do.  Shorts and tights!

I picked an autumnal color for the tights, since the leaves are changing and I want to revel in it.  It's a bit chilly, so I need the jacket.

I like the way the cropped jacket shows off my hips!

Plus, for fun, here's a Charlie model shot <3 She kind of goes with my outfit.

Work It Out

I am an active fat girl.  I used to run a lot, but since injuring my back I am sticking to less intense exercises.  I have a Wii Fit (old school, I know) and I'm really into doing yoga/strength training.  I do cardio as well when I feel like it.

Anyway, if you're going to work out you need some duds to work it out in.  This is a workout outfit post!

I personally like capris as opposed to shorts or pants.  Shorts lead to chub rub (especially with cardio) and pants are always too hot for me!  I like my bottoms to be tight and breathable (insert queer pun here).

I got these capris at Lane Bryant for way on sale.  But you can find good work out bottoms other places as well.  You could even use leggings if you wanted a more cost effective option.

My shirt is actually a Michael Sam jersey.  No, this is not because I care about football or the Rams.  It's because Michael Sam is the first openly gay NFL player, and I wanted to support him by buying a jersey.  Plus it's soft and super nice to sweat in.

To be honest, most of the time during work outs I end up taking my shirt off anyway.  That's where a cute sports bra/top thing comes in handy!

Technically this top is from the straight sizes (I'm wearing a large) at Forever 21.  But I worked some fat girl magic and it's a perfect top for work outs!  Plus it's Keith Harring.

Overall it doesn't really matter what you wear when you work out.  Just wear something comfortable and that works for you.

Have fun working it out!

Gwynnie Bee and me

OOTD - first Gwynnie Bee dress! (featuring kittens)

I have to be honest - I was really hesitant to start my Gwynnie Bee subscription.
I was worried it was just going to be another thing I’d join and regret.  But, they have a free month, so I figure why not?
OH. MY. GOD. I am glad I did.
Not only is it SUPER fun to go through all their items and build up your closet, but it like a giant rotating wardrobe.  The shipping is incredibly fast, free, and returns are free as well!  No need to wash anything either - it all get’s dry-cleaned at their base.
For my free month I am getting 4 (That’s right, 4) items shipped to me as often as I’d like.  This is my very first dress that arrived!
It’s the “Scalloped Boudoir Lace Dress in Navy” from Kiyonna.  In real life, I never would have had the money to buy this dress.  It retails for $160.  I get to wear it for as long as I’d like for FREE.
It’s not only incredibly comfortable and well made, but it fits perfectly.  I got it in size 1X.
This is how it looks on the website (this is the real color that my camera can’t capture)
How do I compare?
Believe me, you won’t regret it!

How to get amazing clothes for free

Attend a fat-swap!

I was lucky enough to snag this AMAZING eshakti dress for NOTHING.  I altered the neckline a bit, but otherwise it is such an amazing dress that I get tons of compliments on.
Dress: Eshakti (no longer on their website)
However, I highly recommend Eshakti in general.  Their clothing is impeccably made and come up to size 36!
All I can say, is THANK YOU to the person who let this beauty go.

Surprise Date

The GQ is surprising me tonight with a date near the Commons.  I am so excited!
I asked him what to wear, and he said: "Something beautiful with leggings"

I think I got it ;)

Plus, it gives me the perfect excuse to wear my new asos bodysuit!!  It is a little big (damn you asos sizing) but I am still in love with it!

Skirt: Thrifted, originally from Old Navy
Leggings: Torrid
Belt: Thrifted
Necklace/earrings: My mother

I think he'll approve of the outfit!

Also, sorry for the long break!  I am back ready to blog again!!!

On the Target

The GQ and I went to Target last night, and I basically tried on every dress they had.  The GQ waited so patiently while I twirled and made kissy faces at them.  I'm glad they like me and my ultra femmeness :P

I bought one dress and a cardi (ON SALE) and I'm really excited about them.  Here are some of the rejects:

I looked good in everything, but I needed some to WOW me.

I also tried on some bikini tops.  Of course, they only had bikinis in straight sizes, so all the tops were way too small.  I liked one, but my boobs were hanging out!

And yes, that's a hickey.  UNASHAMED.
