Gwynnie Bee and me

OOTD - first Gwynnie Bee dress! (featuring kittens)

I have to be honest - I was really hesitant to start my Gwynnie Bee subscription.
I was worried it was just going to be another thing I’d join and regret.  But, they have a free month, so I figure why not?
OH. MY. GOD. I am glad I did.
Not only is it SUPER fun to go through all their items and build up your closet, but it like a giant rotating wardrobe.  The shipping is incredibly fast, free, and returns are free as well!  No need to wash anything either - it all get’s dry-cleaned at their base.
For my free month I am getting 4 (That’s right, 4) items shipped to me as often as I’d like.  This is my very first dress that arrived!
It’s the “Scalloped Boudoir Lace Dress in Navy” from Kiyonna.  In real life, I never would have had the money to buy this dress.  It retails for $160.  I get to wear it for as long as I’d like for FREE.
It’s not only incredibly comfortable and well made, but it fits perfectly.  I got it in size 1X.
This is how it looks on the website (this is the real color that my camera can’t capture)
How do I compare?
Believe me, you won’t regret it!

How to get amazing clothes for free

Attend a fat-swap!

I was lucky enough to snag this AMAZING eshakti dress for NOTHING.  I altered the neckline a bit, but otherwise it is such an amazing dress that I get tons of compliments on.
Dress: Eshakti (no longer on their website)
However, I highly recommend Eshakti in general.  Their clothing is impeccably made and come up to size 36!
All I can say, is THANK YOU to the person who let this beauty go.

Surprise Date

The GQ is surprising me tonight with a date near the Commons.  I am so excited!
I asked him what to wear, and he said: "Something beautiful with leggings"

I think I got it ;)

Plus, it gives me the perfect excuse to wear my new asos bodysuit!!  It is a little big (damn you asos sizing) but I am still in love with it!

Skirt: Thrifted, originally from Old Navy
Leggings: Torrid
Belt: Thrifted
Necklace/earrings: My mother

I think he'll approve of the outfit!

Also, sorry for the long break!  I am back ready to blog again!!!

On the Target

The GQ and I went to Target last night, and I basically tried on every dress they had.  The GQ waited so patiently while I twirled and made kissy faces at them.  I'm glad they like me and my ultra femmeness :P

I bought one dress and a cardi (ON SALE) and I'm really excited about them.  Here are some of the rejects:

I looked good in everything, but I needed some to WOW me.

I also tried on some bikini tops.  Of course, they only had bikinis in straight sizes, so all the tops were way too small.  I liked one, but my boobs were hanging out!

And yes, that's a hickey.  UNASHAMED.

Pink for Passover

Happy Passover everyone!
This will be my first Passover away from home, so I dressed up in pink to remind myself how rosy life is.

I got this dress from Kohl's.  I believe it's from Lauren Conrad.

I absolutely love the pokkadots and the pink!  I think it matches my personality perfectly!  Plus, it's starting to feel a little more like spring in Boston, so it's a great excuse to wear a little dress!

And of course, my favorite Betsy Johnson earrings!

Are you Red-y

Two posts in one day?

Apparently I am feeling ambitious.

This is a dress I got super on sale from Deb.  I love the floral pattern and the red accents.  I don't normally wear a lot of red, but this was irresistible!

The print is a mix of roses and small yellow flowers!
I had been looking everywhere for the perfect cardigan to pair with it, and I found it at Target!

 LOVE THIS
I'm having a super cute day <3

Bra Review

I think a lot of us fat folk have bra issues.  Hell, A LOT OF US PEOPLE have bra issues.  And for me, it's especially frustrating because I am never sure of my cup size.  I have been professionally measured, and they still aren't sure!  I believe I am somewhere around a 38C.

As a fat girl with small boobs, sometimes it's easy to feel bad about my chest.  The images of fat women that are seen as 'beautiful' are usually large breasted.  Well, I find that having a sexy bra can help with that issue.  Screw the 'acceptable' fat body - my chest is beautiful too!

The first two bras are from Torrid.  I bought the mauve one first, and love it so much I had to buy the black as well!

This gorgeous bra is super comfortable.  It has a thick band, which I appreciate because it offers more support.  Plus, the lace isn't thick enough to make a noticeable pattern if you're wearing a tight top.  The underwire is a little flimsy, so be careful taking it on and off!

Next, I have a bra from Victoria Secret.  This is a 36D, since Victoria Secret apparently does not like fat people.

It's not my favorite, but it's so pretty!  I really only wear it when I'm entertaining sexy time guests.

And finally, another bra from Torrid, is my absolute favorite!

It is INCREDIBLY comfortable.  Even though it's just a nude bra, it makes me feel so sexy.  I like the support it gives while also keeping my shape.

Whatever bra you choose, make sure it feels good on!  It needs to both make you feel beautiful, while also doing it's job.

Shopping While Fat

It is really hard to go shopping when you are bigger than a size 12.

Unless you want to pay extra money at plus size stores (for really ugly things, btw) you have to sift through a bunch of ill-fitting XLs and XXLs.  Sometimes I can find a L that looks half way decent.

Today, the BFF and I went to Target and a local thrift store.  I picked out a ton of things, of most of them looked awful!  Here are some of the rejects:

This looked cute on the hanger, and just failed on my body.
This is just depressing.  I LOVE pokkadots, but it's basically just a bag.

This had potential, but the bust was too big and the shoulders fit really weird.

I don't even know why I tried this on......
No.

But, some things did work!!!!!!

How fucking cute is that cardigan!?!?!?!  And I got this dress and another similar to it.

What do you all think about my picks?

Backless and Babely

I finally found the perfect backless dress at a thrift store.

Honey, I've got curves for days.  And this dress DEFINITELY shows them off.

Pretty in Petals

Good morning, lovelies!  It is a little dreary here in Boston, but at least I've got a springy outfit on!

I find that wide belts and floral skirts can make even the rainiest day more bearable.

Top: Target
Skirt: Thrifted
Belt: Gift from my BFF
Shoes: Kohl's (I think Vera Wang?)
Necklace: Made by muh mama

I am going to wearing as much color as possible, to fight off the March blues.
